Belinda Ryan

Belinda is an illustrator based in Sydney, Australia. She is a member of SCBWI (Society of Childrens Book Writers and Illustrators), and has previously attended their biannual conference in Sydney, where she was selected to participate in the illustrator showcase. Belinda has also attended the KidLitVic conference in Melbourne, where she was able to meet with publishers and showcase her portfolio.

 

Belinda has always loved to draw and paint and do anything creative. Upon returning from living in Singapore for a year with her family in 2014, she completed a number of courses in writing and illustrating picture books which further fuelled her passion, to pursue her goal of illustrating picture books. Belinda majored in art at school and also while studying primary school teaching, at university. After teaching for many years and painting walls, windows and anything that stood still in her classroom, with characters and scenes from picture books, she has chosen to pursue her life long dream of illustrating.

These days she is delighted to spend much of her time drawing, painting, learning and building her portfolio. When not illustrating, Belinda is teaching and tutoring, running a house, volunteering at her sons' school, participating in illustration and art courses, doing all the "normal Mum stuff" and enjoying life with her husband, their 3 sons and their mischievous 5 year old cavoodle, named Harley.
